XTO oil rigs to be established away from Theodore Roosevelt Ranch
The North Dakota Industrial Commission recently approved a plan that will keep new oil rigs, to be built by XTO Energy, Inc (a subsidiary of ExxonMobil), two miles from the Elkhorn Ranch, Theodore Roosevelt’s historic home in the North Dakota badlands. Moving the wells will cost the company approximately $8 million. Park officials and XTO will meet to review flaring, traffic and noise concerns in the near future. Read more in the Dickinson Press.
