Tesoro proposing west coast oil terminal
The state of Washington is starting to experience part of North Dakota’s oil boom, and it is being delivered by rail. To accommodate the growing use of rail for oil exports, Tesoro is proposing to build a $100 million terminal in the port of Vancouver, Washington, along with several other terminals proposed around the state by Shell, Phillips 66 and others. According to North Dakota Pipeline Authority Director Justin Kringstad, currently three-quarters of Bakken oil are hauled via rail to the East, West and Gulf coasts. Read more in the Dickinson Press, and read more about the proposed oil terminals and see a map of their locations in The Columbian (Vancouver, Wash., newspaper).
