Tax break endorsed by energy committee

The Legislative Energy Committee endorsed a new tax break proposal that would exempt oil from the extraction tax if processed at an in-state refinery. The North Dakota Legislature will review the proposal when it begins session in January. Mel Falcon, vice chairman of Dakota Oil Processing, believes the tax break will bring more refining capacity to North Dakota, creating more jobs and economic growth.
