Senators Seek Longer Comment Period on Proposed Coal Regs
Several US Senators, including North Dakota’s John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp, are calling on the Environmental Protection Agency to allow additional time for public comment on proposed greenhouse gas rules for existing coal-fired power plants. The agency is expected to release the proposed rules next week. The senators want the agency to provide the same timeframe for public comment that was given to proposed rules released last year for greenhouse gas emissions from new coal-fired power plants.
