Researchers Studying Enhanced Oil Recovery Using Natural Gas

Early phase research is being conducted at UND’s Energy & Environmental Research Center on the viability of using flared natural gas in enhanced oil production.   Research is already underway on injecting carbon dioxide to help extract more oil; however, companies and others are interested in the potential for using natural gas due to the short supply of carbon dioxide and the ample supply of natural gas.  Read more in the Dickinson Press.
