Reclamation process complete after two decades
After more than two decades, the Falkirk Mining Company will be released from its bond on two parcels of land in McLean County in January. The land was originally mined between 1979-1985, and totals more than 175 acres and is located near Underwood, ND. Crop land now makes up 150 acres of the total area. The North Dakota Public Service Commission said that it is “important to bring the land back into production” no matter the size of the area. The commission voted unanimously for the bond release.
