North Dakota turbine blades head to Brazil
Grand Forks-based LM Wind Power, manufacturer of wind turbine blades, is sending 60 blades to Brazil, a journey that will take three weeks. The blades were trucked to Duluth, Minn., and were loaded on a ship that will sail via Port of Duluth, the Great Lakes, and the Atlantic Ocean. The Minnesota port started handling wind turbine components in 2005 and has handled more than a million freight tons since. Read the story of the wind turbine blades’ long journey in the Grand Forks Herald (registration may be required).
