North Dakota officially #3 in oil production
After another record-breaking January in oil production, North Dakota has jumped to a new ranking of third-largest oil-producing state in the nation, surpassing California. In 2006, North Dakota was the ninth-largest oil-producing state and gained it’s number four spot in 2009. North Dakota officials anticipate the state will overtake Alaska’s No. 2 spot within a year, coming in behind only Texas. Read the Bismarck Tribune story here.
