North Dakota increased diesel use by 20 million gallons
The state of North Dakota saw an increase of 20 million gallons of diesel used from the period of October 2010 to October 2011. According to North Dakota Petroleum Marketers Association, this was due to the oil boom and a longer construction period thanks to favorable late fall weather. Because of the increased demand, Tesoro unveiled plans to increase production of homegrown diesel by 5,000 barrels a day. The project will be completed in the last three months of 2013.
