New pipeline approved in N.D.

Alliance Pipeline reported that it received approval from the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to build a 79-mile “lateral” pipeline from the Williston Basin to connect with a mainline in order to move the natural gas to the Chicago market. The company says that moving the natural gas to the consumer market with reduce flaring of natural gas in the Bakken. The new pipe could carry as much as 106 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
