New pipeline applications being scrutinized
Enbridge Inc.’s current network of pipeline is at maximum capacity and needs crucial new additions to carry large amounts of oil coming from the Bakken Formation. The company has filed applications in Minnesota on a new 610 mile pipeline that would carry upwards of 200,000 barrels of oil daily. The proposed pipeline is raising concerns for farmers and landowners in its proposed path, who fear that it will destroy the productive capacity of the land it crosses.
