ND Wind Energy May Expand Under Proposed Carbon Rules

Officials with the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) say that North Dakota may be able to supply neighboring states with increased energy from wind as those states work to comply with newly-proposed federal regulations seeking to reduce carbon emissions. EPA has set a carbon reduction goal of 30 percent nationwide from existing coal-fired power plants. North Dakota has a state-level reduction target of 11 percent, according to the EPA rule.
