McLean County commission rejects waste landfill

McLean County officially denied a zoning change for Great River Energy’s Coal Creak Station near Underwood. The company had proposed reusing an unused fly ash pit for oil field waste, but the proposal was rejected after much debate. Some citizens expressed concern that the oil field waste would contaminate waters near their land.  Read more in the Bismarck Tribune.
