Map of Bakken drilling published
The North Dakota Petroleum Council and the Energy and Environmental Research Center has published their second annual map of the Bakken and Three Forks formation drilling. The map was given to the 4,000 attendees and organizations that attended the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference in May. President of the Petroleum Council, Ron Ness, said that the dots representing the wells drilled on the map define where the Bakken-Three Forks geology lies. The map holds 3,461 “dots,” representing wells drilled through December 2011. Since that time, there have approximately 1,000 more wells drilled.
