Governor Warns Industry on Flaring
Governor Jack Dalrymple addressed the more than 4,000 participants at this week’s Williston Basin Petroleum Council in Bismarck. In his remarks, Dalrymple said that the state plans to be tougher on regulating flaring, especially with requests to extend flaring beyond the one-year currently allowed under state law. North Dakota set an all-time record for flared gas—36 percent—in December 2013. The Governor also applauded recent announcements and investments in natural gas processing facilities in the state.
