ND EmPower Commission makes energy policy recommendations
The state’s 16-member EmPower North Dakota Commission presented a new report to legislators on Thursday that made recommendations for state energy policy. Included are increased investments in infrastructure, research and development, energy education and collaboration with federal regulators. The Commission was created in 2007 and is made up of representatives from all of North Dakota’s energy sectors.
Specifics included in the report were recommendations to expand funding for the state’s housing incentive fund; to fund $3 million for renewable energy research and development; to increase the oil and gas research program funding by $1 million to research value-added natural gas processing.
