Electrical rates in Minnesota being reviewed
Electrical rates for more than 1 million consumers in Minnesota have gone up as much as 9 percent since January. The consumers are customers of Xcel Energy, Inc., and the rate increase is a result of required upgrades to the company’s power plants in the state. The Minnesota Department of Commerce has recommended the rate increase be dropped to 3.7 percent, which would result in refunds plus interest to the effected customers. Read more from NBC News.
