CapX 2020 gets approval in ND

The North Dakota Public Service Commission granted a permit this week for a 35-mile segment of line in the state for a $2 billion transmission project by CapX 2020. The 345-kilovolt line will run from eight miles northwest of Fargo to the Minnesota border. CapX 2020 is a group of 11 utilities working to upgrade and expand more than 700 miles of transmission to increase electric reliability in Minnesota. The North Dakota Public Service Commission permit is the last one needed, with Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota permits already granted. Construction starts early 2013.
