Bison Wind Farm set to grow near New Salem
The Bison Wind Farm, currently composed of more than 100 wind turbines, may grow by more than 50 percent by 2015. Minnesota Power, which operates the wind farm, has submitted site permit applications to North Dakota regulators, with the intent of adding the fourth phase of the Bison farm. It would generate an additional 200-megawatts of power, and would help the company move closer to reaching Minnesota’s renewable energy standard of 25 percent renewable energy by 2025.
