Area utilities help consumers cut bills
Area utilities are offering ways for its consumers to save on electricity bills during the hot summer months when air conditioners are putting in overtime. Xcel Energy offers a Saver Switch program which allows the utility to cycle central air units off and on throughout the day when use is at its peak. By allowing the utility to install a switch at your home, Xcel Energy customers can save 15 percent on their bill during summer months. Moorhead Public Service offers a similar program called Thrifty Watts which gives consumers a $9 credit and Cass County Electric’s own program offers a $7 credit or discounted bill.
