Another record broken
February 2013 oil production numbers saw a big rise, reaching a record 779,000 barrels a day. According to the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources Director Lynn Helms, this will be the first of many record-breaking months this year as more rigs come online, inching toward 200 total rigs from current counts under 190. The month of February also saw an increase of natural gas flaring from oil wells, an increase of about 1 percent from the previous month. See the article in the Bismarck Tribune.
