40 ND sites nominated for increased protection from oil drilling

The ND Industrial Commission has compiled a list of 40 sites on the western side of the state that residents would like to see protected from oil drilling. The areas were selected because of their cultural or environmental sensitivity, but because each site is different, the Industrial Commission will need to determine the level of protection each site requires on a case by case basis. The three members of the Commission, Governor Jack Dalrymple, Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem and Agricultural Commissioner Doug Goehring will tour the sites over the next few weeks.
