Proppant company interested in Gladstone, N.D.

A Houston, Tex., proppant company is interested in building a $26 million distribution facility northeast of Gladstone, N.D. The CARBO Ceramics North American facility, slated to be completed in early 2013, would sit on 85 acres and hold approximately 100 million pounds of proppant. Proppant is a ceramic material used in hydraulic fracturing. CARBO Ceramics received unanimous approval from the Stark Development Corp. Board, but because of the facility’s location will now need approval from the city of Gladstone. Read the Dickinson Press story here on proppant and CARBO Ceramics moving to Gladstone.
