ONEOK announces new natural gas plant in North Dakota
ONEOK Partners announced plans last week for the construction of a new natural gas processing facility and an expansion project to add capacity along the Bakken Natural Gas Liquids Pipeline.
Garden Creek II will be a new natural gas processing facility located in eastern McKenzie County capable of processing 100 million cubic feet of natural gas per day (cf/d). ONEOK hopes to have the plant online in late 2014 and expect costs to be between $310-345 million to construct. It will be built next to the original Garden Creek plant which came online in December 2011.
In addition, the company will be investing approximately $100 million to add pump stations along the Bakken Natural Gas Liquids Pipeline which will increase capacity from 60,000 barrels per day to 135,000 bpd.
ONEOK executive vice president and COO said this will take the company’s investments from $3.6 billion to $4.2 billion in Bakken-related infrastructure.Read the ONEOK story in the Jamestown Sun (registration may be required).
